Milky Way Galaxy or Milkyway Galaxy and other galaxies

  • Share

Hello friends welcome to the website Dikri Nalendra07 How are you? I hope you are always healthy, today I will discuss about the Milky Way Galaxy or Milkyway. Surely friends have heard of galaxies, do you know the meaning of galaxies? if not, let's learn together about what a galaxy is, what galaxy we live in and the center of the galaxy, ok friends, without further ado, let's get started.

Understanding the Galaxy

A galaxy is a collection of stars, planets or other objects that make up an object, galaxies consist of one or more large objects and are regularly surrounded by other celestial bodies.
In astronomy, the galaxy is a system consisting of stars, gas and dust that is very broad, whose members have a gravitational force. A usually consists of billions of stars that vary in size, color and characteristics

Types of Galaxies

Oh my friends, the galaxy has many types and I will discuss just a few of them which I will explain below:

Milky Way Galaxy or Milkyway Galaxy

Friends must have often heard about this galaxy and even studied it at school, this galaxy is a spiral galaxy and this galaxy is the galaxy we are in. The galaxy was discovered by an astronomer named William Hershel on July 18, 1783 who came from England. The Milky Way Galaxy is made up of 100-400 billion stars and has a diameter of 105,700 light years.

Andromeda Galaxy

The Andromeda Galaxy is a galaxy almost the same as the Milky Way galaxy, which is spiral in shape and almost the same size but Andromeda is younger than the Milky Way, the distance between the Milky Way and Andromeda is about 2 million light years and is the closest galaxy to the Milky Way galaxy.

triangular galaxy

This galaxy is the 2nd closest galaxy to the Milky Way after Andromeda, the shape of this galaxy is the same as The Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way Galaxy are spiral in shape. Also known as Messier 33 or M33, the researchers suspect that if the triangulum galaxy is 50,000 light-years across, it is the third largest galaxy in a local group of galaxies including the Milky Way and Andromeda.

Galaxy Messier 87

This galaxy is one of the elliptical shaped galaxies because this galaxy does not have a distinctive dust path. This galaxy is located in the constellation Virgo This galaxy was discovered by Charles Charles Messier in 1781, located at a distance of 16.4 million parsecs (53.5 million light years).
Ok, thank you for reading this article, hopefully with this article it can be useful for all of us, amen, and in the future I will discuss other galaxies in the next article.
